Following conflict, agricultural development is one of the first and most important critical tools for rebuilding not just food systems and economic growth but also for rebuilding communities. This side event will discuss the role of agriculture as a peace building tool, through capacity development and market-led growth, which is vital for post-conflict reconstruction. This event will include a keynote speaker with panel respondents and is jointly hosted by the Association for International Agriculture and Rural Development (AIARD) and the International Agriculture Section of the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU).
Keynote speaker: Dr. John Medendorp, Director, Borlaug Higher Education for Agricultural Research and Development (BHEARD), Michigan State University
