Dr. Paul Anderson is Senior Director of International Programs at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center. He has 25 years of experience in corn, soybean, and wheat improvement and plant biotechnology development with a specialty in grain composition improvement for feed, food, and industrial end uses. He has also conducted additional research in biotic and abiotic stress resistance.
He joined the Danforth Center in 2008. Prior to his joining the Danforth Center he spent 10 years with Pioneer Hi-Bred as a research Director for Food and Feed research. Dr. Anderson was named principal investigator for the Africa Biofortified Sorghum grant in 2005. Funded by a grant from the Gates' Grand Challenges in Global Health Initiative, this work aims to improve the nutritional value of sorghum for human consumption as well as to build African scientific capacity through the training of African scientists. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, with a Bachelor of Science degree and a Doctorate in biochemistry.
