Dr. Lee Babcock currently works as a Technical Managing Director for a Washington DC based international firm, ACDI/VOCA, that designs and implements long term multi-year economic development projects, at national and regional levels, for developing countries worldwide. He was also an independent contractor for 13+ years, advising the governments and/or private sectors throughout the Former Soviet Union, Former Yugoslavia, and Southeast Asia on privatization, corporate turnarounds of state owned enterprises, small and medium enterprise development, and bank restructuring.
He authored two books for entrepreneurs on business planning and commercial credit that were distributed in Russian and Latvian languages for the Former Soviet Union marketplace. His international work was preceded by professional consulting experience with (then) Big Eight firms and a position as a senior financial executive with a $200 million semiconductor company in Silicon Valley. In addition, he started a management consulting firm with two partners and ten staff in Eastern Europe and was a business intermediary in California that deal structured more than six middle market transactions.
