"Innovative Public-Private Partnerships that Promote International Agricultural and Rural Development" Speakers and Panelists
Ms. Jennifer Barsky, with more than a decade of experience working on issues related to the role of the private sector in development, currently serves as Operations Officer with the International Finance Corporation's Small and Medium Enterprise Unit in Washington, DC. In this role, Jennifer is responsible for brokering alliances with foundation and corporate partners to empower the poor in developing countries. She joined the IFC from the World Bank where she was researching the role of private actors in Africa's evolving aid landscape.
Jennifer previously served as founding Director of the Nike Foundation, where she worked with key players in economic and social development to fulfill the foundation's mission of increasing opportunities for girls in the developing world. Her prior professional experience includes corporate social responsibility and social investment strategy development, stakeholder engagement and partnership development with SustainAbility and United Nations Development Program in New York and Angola. She has also consulted for BP, Calvert Foundation, Oxfam and TrickleUp and served as adjunct lecturer at Columbia and New York Universities. She began her career in finance and then as a journalist in Mexico, Nigeria, Finland and the US. Jennifer received a bachelor's degree from McGill University and a master's degree from Columbia University.
