Fiona Macaulay, Founder and President of Making Cents International, a consulting firm based in Washington, D.C. Making Cents is committed to poverty alleviation through the provision of services to assist the development and support of micro and small enterprises. Fiona has over ten years of experience in the field of micro and small enterprise development. Her focus is on strengthening the capacity of community-based organizations that assist youth and adult microentrepreneurs to better serve them through innovative and effective educational and training services.
She has expertise in the development, adaptation, and delivery of training courses internationally to micro-finance and other institutions that have programs to develop microenterprise skills and foster entrepreneurship in adults and youth. Fiona has delivered training-of-trainers courses to more than 4,000 trainers and regularly consults to community-based organizations, microfinance programs, government agencies, and educational organizations on how to design and deliver effective training to entrepreneurs and future entrepreneurs. Under Fiona's leadership, Making Cents has worked with organizations in 43 countries, including in North America, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Pacific Rim. Also fluent in French, Fiona is a respected speaker and workshop facilitator at international and national conferences.
