Membership Committee
Chair: Chuck Chopak
Members: Nathan Rider, Gretchen Neisler
The Membership Committee works to build active and inclusive membership in AIARD activities. It does so by engaging a wide and diverse array of professionals from universities, private voluntary organizations, consulting companies, trade associations, private firms, national and international agencies and foundations from almost every state in the union and overseas who have devoted their careers to global agricultural development and hunger alleviation.
AIARD is actively welcoming new individual, institutional, public, and corporate members! AIARD’s strength is in the diversity and engagement of its members in its activities, including the Annual Conference (each June), the Future Leaders Forum, and other ad hoc activities.
The Membership Committee has several ongoing initiatives. AIARD still has a long-term goal to fully implement an “each one bring one” campaign and double the AIARD membership! AIARD is also reaching out to specific types of organizations—for example 1890 Land-grant, Hispanic, and Tribal colleges and universities—and private sector companies. AIARD has several sponsors in 2017 that supported AIARD activities.
In addition, since 2013 we have welcomed ten to twelve young participants each year from our Future Leaders Forum to the membership ranks. Many of these Future Leaders have taken an active interest in AIARD and the field of development across a wide array of organizations.
Finally, AIARD confers a one-year complimentary membership to those who present at our annual conference held each June.

We are always eager to have new members. Please join us in the challenge of fighting global hunger and poverty through agricultural development and invite at least one of your favorite colleagues from your institution to join us as well.
