S. (Suresh) Sureshwaran is the National Program Leader for Social Sciences in Competitive Programs at USDA-CSREES. He provides leadership for all competitive grants in social sciences in the National Research Initiative (NRI) and the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) programs. 
Previously, from 2001 to 2003, he was a National 
Program Leader in Higher Education Programs. Other than the NRI and SBIR panels, Suresh has managed the National Needs Graduate Fellowships Grants program, Higher Education Multicultural Scholars Grants program, and other supplementary and federal administration grants. Prior to joining CSREES in 2001, Suresh was employed as a Professor of Agribusiness at South Carolina State University. He received his Ph.D. in Applied Economics from Clemson University and his M.A. degree in Development Economics from the University of East Anglia, United Kingdom.
