Thurston F. ("Tony") Teele Chairman of the Board Chemonics International, Inc.
Thurston ("Tony") Teele is a development specialist with 48 years of international experience, including 41 years in economics and agricultural economics. His areas of expertise include: agricultural policy, agribusiness, investment promotion, and input distribution. President and founder of Chemonics International for 26 years, As President, Mr. Teele was responsible for the management of more than
425 Washington and 700 overseas staff. Since 2001, as full-time Chairman of the Board, Mr. Teele provides general oversight and represents the Company in many organizations, travels to visit projects, and plays a major role in business development. During his career, Mr. Teele has worked on long-term assignments in eight countries (four as Chief of Party) and more recently, provided technical and administrative supervision for contracts in Guinea, Mali, Zaire, Egypt, Afghanistan, Morocco, Pakistan, South Africa, Madagascar, Kazakhstan and several others. He received an MA from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and a BA in political science from Amherst College.
